UESF reports that Ukraine’s VALORANT national team has wrapped up its performances at the Esports Nations Cup 2026 qualifiers, finishing third in Eastern Europe.
The start was excellent: the team confidently beat Moldova and Bulgaria, then defeated a strong Czech side to reach the qualifier final. In the final, the Ukrainians lost to Hungary 1-2 and dropped into the lower bracket, where they faced the Czech Republic once again. In a close match, the team lost 1-2 and finished the qualifier in third place. Hungary and the Czech Republic took the spots at ENC.
Comment from National Team Coach Johnta
In his social media posts, the coach acknowledges that the team lacked experience and composure in the decisive match against Hungary, and that they simply ran out of energy on the third map against the Czech Republic. According to him, the last two weeks of preparation were especially challenging — alongside the national team qualifiers, he also had to prepare for Challengers EMEA: Stage 3 with NAVI Junior, which particularly affected himself and players Kolosha and Javelin.
“It’s a shame we didn’t reach the final result, but I’m proud of the work we put in. Thanks to everyone for the support and for cheering us on,” Johnta summed up.

Solodana, who commentated the national VALORANT team’s matches, shared her impressions of the qualifier:
Solodana noted that commentating the tournament was an experience full of emotion — from a sense of responsibility given the high level of competition, to genuine joy from interacting with viewers in chat.
According to her, the team’s play repeatedly impressed with strong macro understanding — they were often a step ahead of their opponents. There were easy maps where the guys’ individual edge was clearly felt, as well as tough, close matches against well-known players where nerves showed.
“Unfortunately, after six maps, it didn’t end with the slot we wanted, but I’m left with a lot of memories and highlights, and looking back on them, I feel proud that we have what it takes to surprise the world,” Solodana concluded.
