The Updated National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Esports Commission Holds Its First Meeting with Participation of the Ukrainian Esports Federation

The first meeting of the updated National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine Esports Commission took place in Kyiv, with the Ukrainian Esports Federation (UESF) actively involved in its work. The Commission is chaired by Andrii Gryshchenko, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Esports Federation, who represents the interests of the national esports community within the Olympic sports environment. The Deputy Chair of the Commission is Vitalii Lavrov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization. The Commission also includes UESF board member Vitalii Volochai, a well-known Ukrainian commentator and media manager.

The meeting was attended by Vadym Hutsait, President of the NOC of Ukraine and Olympic champion, who greeted the Commission members and emphasized the importance of developing esports as a modern form of competitive activity that is actively integrating into the global sports movement.

During the meeting, the draft Regulation on the NOC of Ukraine Esports Commission was agreed upon, key areas of activity were defined, and the first working initiatives were approved. Among the strategic topics discussed were the integration of Olympic values into the development of Ukrainian esports, cooperation with the International Olympic Committee regarding the list of disciplines that could be featured at the Esports Olympic Games, and shaping Ukraine’s position on this matter for 2026. The Commission also paid special attention to human capital development in the industry: work began on a professional development system for specialists, a professional standard for esports specialists, and dedicated educational programs developed in collaboration with universities and industry experts.

Several working groups were also formed. The Communications Working Group will focus on media, integrity, ethics, equal opportunities, as well as recommendations on the health and physical preparation of esports athletes. The Sports Group will work on developing regulations and formats for national competitions, along with proposals for developing an official system of esports tournaments in Ukraine. The Education Group will be responsible for standardizing and developing educational programs in the field.

The Ukrainian Esports Federation serves as a key initiator of the systemic development of esports in Ukraine and a partner of the NOC of Ukraine in shaping the industry’s long-term strategy. UESF’s participation in the Commission’s work will help consolidate the efforts of government institutions, sports organizations, and the professional esports community to create a modern sports ecosystem aligned with international standards.
